Firstly, love the table! Much nicer than shop bought furniture, hands down!
I&#039;m in the middle of doing a very similar project, not quite as large as your table at 1600 x 900mm, but still very heavy, there&#039;s quite a weight attached to these beautiful chunky tables! 

I was hoping you may be able to offer me some advice, I was going to allow for side rails at 60mm to leave more room for leg space under the table, but do you think that the 100mm you provided gives a lot more stability? How stable is your table if you dont mind me asking? I&#039;m worried about side to side movement if leaned on with too much force as there is no bracing at the bottom of the table...
any help would be very much appreciated!
